Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David’s Round Rock became the first in the U.S. to use a newly FDA-approved carotid artery stent outside of clinical trials, enhancing the TCAR (transcarotid artery revascularization) procedure. This innovative stent, featuring a fine mesh filter to prevent stroke-causing debris, offers improved safety, faster recovery, and better outcomes for patients with carotid artery disease.
